Photos : Erosion covers Benin environs

Many houses have been reportedly destroyed in Akugbe street,
Egor local government area, Ugbowo due to the erosion menace
which also left some electric poles fallen. The erosion was
caused by the heavy rain and the residents have abandoned their
homes for unknown destinations in order to save their lives. The
residents of Akugbe call on the Edo State government, Governor
Adams Oshiomhole to come to their aids before the menace
render them completely homeless. The erosion was said to have
covered a high fence, entered their homes, electronics and other
house properties destroyed. The fence fell on the electric pole,
which in turn fell on one of the houses. When Naija Center News
visited the area, the community was completely silent, as there
was no one to talk to. Our findings revealed that the problems, if
not checked on time, might be deepened, and properties
destroyed is amounting to millions of Naira.
